WELCOME TO PARENTHOOD

At first, I wanted to write down my emotions as a father, but later changed as I thought that self introductory was necessary.

As the title is self explanatory, I was blessed on the 16th of March 2008 to be the father to Mr. Amir Zuhyr Bin Ahmad Faiz, a young and very witty little boy. My wife and I came up to the name by referring to books available at MPH, and Popular Book Stores. I also consulted an Uztat that regularly visits the office to provide insights and advice through his preaching of Islam. Amir means “A Leader” or “The Leader”. Zuhyr or Zuhair means “Composed”. We opted for the earlier because it was simply prettier to write with a “y” than with an “ai”.

Now my son is already 2 months old and could never be wittier. He would act innocent when we raise our voices and would smile during the oddest of hours. He has round cheeks shape like “Pau kacang Merah” as my wife often says. His facial impressions are the cheer of the family as my son always manages to produce smiles on our faces.

He wakes up early hours in the morning when he wants his milk. As any other healthy baby would do, and we as any loving, caring parent would also do, wakes up with drizzly eyes, prepares the milk and lullaby him to sleep.

He would also wake up at 6.00 am to say good bye to my wife as she leaves for work. He would not cry, but his facial portrays his feelings of sorrow and how my wife would leave with a heavy heart.

He would not misbehave during my mother in-law’s caretaking but sometimes do to the extend that my mother in-law could not have the time to cook lunch for herself. My mother in-law is a widow, by the death of my father in-law through Leukimia, an illness uncommon in 1986. My wife was 2 at that point in time. How I admire my mother in-laws courage and determination raising 2 child of her own, only God shall repay the kindness that you have bestowed – Amin.

I’m running out of time, as it’s time for me to head to the sacks.

I would continue my writings in time.

i love my family.

End.
